I've known Kristina + Owen for years. Three times now I've had the honor of photographing their family; first when their oldest, Penelope, was young, then when they were expecting their second daughter, Olivia, and now, at their new home, as a family of four (not counting the chickens). After birthing my own son, Kristina came to my house to offer a desperately needed massage. When my arms were on the verge of tendonitis from the endless click click of photo editing, she massaged them back to health. This is a family of healers, growers, and makers. Owen works as a head chocolate maker at the French Broad Chocolate factory, and Kristina is an herbalist, as well as a massage therapist. It has been a joy to see them grow, and I wish them many peaceful days together rocking on their porch to the sound of happy chickens.
