At its heart, boudoir photography is about feeling empowered and alive in your body.
Honestly, my boudoir (french for bedroom) mostly makes me feel sleepy. It makes me want to reach for a book, or watch Queer Eye on Netflix. It’s the natural world that lights my fire. That makes me feel ALIVE!
Shifting clouds and light, sand on my toes, storms, wind tickling freckled skin. . . the buoyancy of water. What is more sensual than water?! Probably why for a moment, at the end of the 20th century, water beds were a thing. But for me, they just don’t even compare to being held by the ocean, or a riverbed.
So, to celebrate Lynne’s 40th birthday, we took to the sand and sea. We allowed ourselves to play. To celebrate these miraculous bodies we all find ourselves stumbling around in. To embrace, rather than deny, aging. Because, if you are aging, you are alive. And wow, what a wild gift that is!
